In 1952, German physicist Winfried Otto Schumann mathematically predicted that the cavity between the Earth's surface and the ionosphere forms an electromagnetic resonance cavity. This discovery revealed that our planet continuously "sings" at a fundamental frequency of 7.83 Hz.

How It Works

This resonance is constantly excited by global lightning activity — approximately 50 lightning strikes occur every second somewhere on Earth. These discharges create standing electromagnetic waves within the Earth-ionosphere cavity, known as Schumann resonances.
